Treatment Approach:

A cornerstone of my treatment approach is empowerment.  One of my main goals is to help you identify your individual strengths, gifts and talents, and begin to rely on them to effectively maneuver yourself through your struggles.  Gaining confidence in yourself and your ability to make good decisions is an important part of moving forward.

I believe a significant requirement of change is taking an honest look at patterns of behavior.  Understanding how you have handled things in the past, and what the results of your decisions were, will help determine what you need to do differently to affect change.

A large part of therapy is learning what you can control, and what you can't.  Learning what is in your control can be an involved process, but once it is mastered, you will be more able to move forward with confidence and let go of issues you cannot affect and other people's problems.

I use a lot of analogies and examples from my own life to make concepts tangible.  Some of the analogies are goofy, and some of my stories from my own life are comical, so I guarantee there will be laughter in our sessions.  I hope to help you understand that we all find ourselves in uncomfortable situations, and if we are courageous enough to take an honest look at ourselves and our decisions, the result can be a calmer, happier, more-fulfilling life.
